Our goal is to empower military spouses and their organizations to thrive and make a positive impact in their communities.

OUR MISSION

The Council helps Military Spouse Clubs/Organizations operate more efficiently and effectively so clubs can remain compliant, relevant, and vibrant.

The Council brings together a diverse board of nonprofit professionals in the military spouse community to support modern military spouse clubs. Meet our board.

We are brought together by our passion to support every military spouse club, regardless of service or rank, so they can provide a place for all military spouses to connect and give back to local communities through charitable work.

We are currently seeking engaged, mission driven military spouses to join our Board of Directors in remote, flexible, volunteer leadership positions!  

Military Spouse Clubs empower connection, support, and community at installations around the world. As a CMSC Board Member, you help strengthen and unify these clubs nationwide — influencing real change for Military Families.

AVAILABLE ROLES

Board membership requires a high level of commitment and dedication to the Council’s mission. While time demands may vary, members should anticipate contributing at least 5-10 hours per week (approximately 20 - 40 hours per month, depending on position) to Council-related activities.

Chief Operating Officer 

Ensure the smooth, effective, and compliant operation of internal processes.

Director of Resource Development 

Ensures the Council’s work is well-resourced and effectively communicated within the Military Spouse ecosystem.

Director of Video Content Development 

Strategize, develop, produce, and edit video content.

Director of Community Partnerships 

Responsible for cultivating, strengthening, and managing relationships with military spouse-aligned nonprofit organizations and key external stakeholders.

Director of Training 

Design, develop, and execute training initiatives provided by the Council.

Drive innovation, strengthen internal operations, and execute strategic Council initiatives.

Director of Community Engagement 

Strengthen, expand, and activate the Council’s community presence across the Military Spouse Club ecosystem.

Ideal Candidates
Military spouses from the active duty, reserve, guard, or retiree community who are passionate about supporting Military Families and Spouse Clubs. Ideal board members are strong communicators and collaborators, well organized, reliable, and committed to following through.

Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: nonprofit leadership, spouse club leadership, finance, communications, strategy, governance, community engagement, or project management.
